Authentique 'Stitches' & Spellbinders Border Dies

Hi!

I'm back with another showing for something that has not yet been posted on the Scrapbook Essentials BC Facebook page.

Before I begin I must tell you that the Bracket Spellbinders die set I used for these cards were available when I created these cards back in October/November sometime, but are no longer available. I am so sorry about that, but there are similar bracket dies available at Spellbinders, just not with the stitching.

Another thing I will say, is that I do not know if this will be a class, or a card kit. This info is for those friends in the Victoria, BC area. For the rest of my online friends, these are here for inspiration.

These 6 cards are mailable, so are not think with layered pop ups; just one layer or two at the very most. LOL! These are easy cards to whip together.

This first card, you can see that the narrow die cut top piece has been popped up, as has the ampersand square. The die cut 'hugs' has been die cut twice (I prefer 3 to 4 times) and layered together with glue. This helps the die cut word to stand out more from the card.

OK, this card has two layers popped up, but it still easily fits into an envelope. I love the sentiment and image on this card. It brings back memories of my own childhood as I watched my Mom do many of the things that she taught me to do, and for which I am very grateful to have learned.

This next card is another great example of cutting apart some of those cut-a-parts you get in paper collections. I cut up the sentiment piece into smaller sections for this card. And as you all know I love fussy cut flowers, which adds a little something special to the card. So this card too, has two layers popped up.

To make the die look a bit different, I die cut on the angle, and I love how it looks. (I'm saying love a lot aren't I?) Again I die cut 2 (prefer 3 -4 ) sentiments and glued the layers together. The old fashioned dress form is cut out of one of the cut-a-parts.

For this card the die cuts on the top and the bottom are both popped up, and once more the sentiment is layered so that it stands out better on the card. The fussy cut image is also popped up onto the other half of the cut-a-part I got it from from.

Do you see the frame in the middle of the card? I do not have dies for this kind of thing, but you can create them on most paper trimmers. I cut two of them and layered them together with glue. The cut-a-parts are trimmed down and are popped up. The scissors and thread are single layered pop ups, while the sentiment is double layered where needed and single layered over the ones already popped up.

Thank you for stopping by and having a look. When the card class or kit (not sure which it will be yet) is available at Scrapbook Essentials BC, I will let you know.

In the meantime, Happy Creating!

THIS IS THE BORDER DIE SET I USED FOR THESE CARDS. HOWEVER, I DO NOT THINK THESE ARE STILL AVAILABLE.

THESE ARE SOME SPELLBINDER BORDER DIES THAT WOULD WORK FOR THESE KINDS OF CARDS

Card Kit 11! - Six Cards, All in Browns, With Ultimate Crafts 'Ooh La La'

Hello Everyone!

Have you missed me, or my posts?

I decided to go ahead and post this so that you would have something to see. For those of you that live in the area of Scrapbook Essentials BC in Victoria, BC, check on the store Facebook page to watch for the announcement of this kit. For those that do not live in that area, here is some inspiration for you. These are great examples of Monochromatic colour card creations, how to make browns interesting, appealing, and even pretty, and what you can do with 'Z' Fold cards!

This is the first planned card kit for 2019! This kit comprises mainly of 'Z' Fold cards.

Remember this class I posted a while back? Well, Scrapbook Essentials BC had more of these unique paper pads and I have created another card kit for you using this same paper. Creating a vintage, and almost steampunk look is easy with this paper collection. So if you took the class and would like to make more cards with this paper, here is a kit for you!

'Z' FOLDS IN BROWN WITH ULTIMATE CRAFTS 'OOH LA LA'

Watch for Kit Availability at Scrapbooking Essentials BC

This kit is filled with 'Z' Fold cards and specialty fold cards! If you are looking to make cards that are a little different, this is a great kit! And, if you took the Ultimate Crafts 'Ooh La La' card class and loved the cards, you may want to make more cards using the same papers!

In this kit all the stamping will be done for you, the scallop and feathers will be die cut for you, but the other stamped images you will need to fussy cut out for your cards. Have fun making these cards as you follow the step by step instructions the will be emailed to you upon purchase of the kit.

I love the hanging banners made from all the left over scraps on this card.

With this card, I love that it can be both masculine and feminine. What do you think?

I really like this older Spellbinders 'Feather' stamp and die. You can do so much with it!

Some NUVO drops, a butterfly punch (or die) and you have a more feminine card in browns.

This top fold 'Z' Fold is beautiful in the lighter taupe shades. Adding the larger sentiment from Altenew, as well as the flower stamp (that comes with dies) is great too. I did not have the die for the 'hello', so I fussy cut it out to look like it was die cut.

This next one is of my favourites form this collection of cards. I used a Spellbinders stamp & die for the florals, and combined it with the Altenew 'hello' sentiment, cutting it out as I did in the previous card. There's lots of writing space in this card too!

Well, I hope that you enjoyed these cards and are inspired in some way. Feel free to ask any questions, too.

And for those in the Victoria, BC area, watch for the posting for the availability of this card kit.

Happy creating to you all!

Masculine Birthday Card With Altenew

Welcome!

Today I am sharing with you another masculine birthday card made for a family member. I could have used masculine papers to create a card, but I was more in the mood for stamping. The challenge was that I do not have a whole lot of masculine stamps. Something to correct I guess. I went through the stamps that I have unpacked (some are in storage) and came up with the idea to use the Altenew 'Birds of a Feather' stamp and die set along with the leaves from the 'Hope' stamp and die set. Maybe use some Distress Oxide Salty Ocean as a background and see what I can come up with to make this card more on the masculine side.

I thought I would start by showing you the background piece before I put the card together.

I ended up adding Distress Gathered Twigs on the edges (I don't have it in the Oxide yet), and splattered a few water drops on the 'Salty Ocean'.

This is how the card turned out.

Now, if you are wondering why the NUVO Glitter drops look a little on the strange side, that is because I did not let them dry before taking the photos. I have a busy day ahead and had to take the photos this morning or wait till Wednesday. So I opted to photograph while they were still wet.

So, do you think this looks masculine enough? I think so. I also love the Butter yellow embossing powder I was able to use for the first time. I have some coloured embossing powders from about 5 years ago that I have never used because I was always busy using product for classes.

In the above photo you can see that the only things that I popped up are the bird and the sentiment. Everything else is glued on leaving the edges free so that they lift up a bit.

To lighten the birds tummy, I took a clean cloth and dabbed the belly lightly to get rid of some of the ink on the stamp before stamping. If you look at the feet of the bird (above) you can see that my stamping did not line up with die. It was the first time I used this stamp set, and hope the next time I can get it to work better for me.

For my class samples I never do anything on the inside of the cards, but as this is a personal card I have added a little something on the inside. A benefit of doing so is twofold. It looks more finished on the inside and it gives the back of the card more stability balancing the front And back as it stands up. Especially for a top fold card.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing this card. Below, I will link to some of the product used in the making of this card.

Thank you for stopping by, and happy creating!
