G45 Winter Wonderland Card Class

Where does the time go? Do you realize that Christmas is only a littler over three months away? At Scrapbook Essentials BC, we started making Christmas cards in July, but do you have enough cards yet? I think I am asking too many questions. Let's get to the class posting.

I love this year's Graphic 45 Winter Wonderland collection! And I'm pretty sure a lot of you feel the same. I had ideas coming out of the wazoo for this collection, but there just would not be enough time before Christmas, to make them all. We cannot forget the Christmas cards to give out to our family and special friends, and Winter Wonderland is perfect for that!

We will make four fancy square cards in this class, and I'm sure those that receive them will treasure them for a long time to come. These would also be great in a 6 x 6 frame to use as décor for 'decking your halls'!

Please Bring To Class: Paper trimmer, scissors, black, gray, or dark marker to edge our paper cuts, mini-glue dots, double sided adhesive tape, pop ups - Black 3D Foam squares or tape is best for this class, liquid glue for metal, & Buttercup Liquid Pearls.

Date: Saturday, October 21st (at the Langford Legion)
Time: 9:30 - 12:00
Cost: $35.00
RSVP: sbebc2011@gmail.com or 778-533-4290

Here is a closer look at each of the cards.

I know I mentioned how much I love this collection, but I need to say it again. Isn't this collection gorgeous?! Look for another class posting some time in October for a Layout Class using this same collection.

Happy creating!

Spellbinders Educator #7 Class - Fall Leaves

Hello everyone!

Some of you may be wondering why nothing much has been posted of late. Well there are a few reasons why. First, summer months usually are fewer posts due to people vacationing, etc. so we have fewer classes. Second, I am currently in the middle of a move, which does not give me much time to create classes and posts.

New Schedule of Classes

With my move, I will be living further from the Scrapbook Essentials BC Store & Studio. I have been teaching anywhere from 8 to 12 classes a month, and it has become too much for me. So I am taking a break with this move, and will be teaching only 3 to 4 classes per month for a while. Besides, driving from Sidney to Victoria means I need to cut down the number of classes anyway.

Now, on to the Spellbinders Educator #7 Class - Fall Leaves

October is a great time of the year for giving cards that use the beautiful Fall colours. Great for masculine cards too! Everyone will receive the Fall Leaves (S3-270) die set that includes words as well! And, we will be using the Floral Embossing Folder (SES-007) and creating a dual tone through an inking technique. Because it is easy to die-cut a bunch of leaves, we will have time to create three cards this time!

Please bring to class: die cutting machine, (if you have a Prizm, you might like to bring it as well), Tool 'n One, a medium to dark brown ink pad and ink blending tool, double-sided adhesive tape (Sookwang), mini-glue dots, black foam squares or tape, scissors, scotch tape, and liquid glue.

Date: Wednesday, October 25th
Time: 6:00 - 8:00
Cost: $45.00
RSVP: sbebc2011@gmail.com or 778-533-4290

ONLY 7 spots available!

Here is a closer look at each individual card.

Looking forward to seeing you all there! This is a great little die set!!

Happy creating!

Spellbinders Stamps & AquaBlend Pencils!

Make sure to mark Wednesday, September 20th on your calendar because this is going to be a real fun class with a Spellbinders stamp set chosen by Spellbinders Educator Canada! (Inspiring Others)  A class that will bring out the inner young girl in you while we create these cards. Remember loving to colour and paint as a girl?

I love working with watercolour pencils just a tad more than with alcohol markers. I think it is because you can create so many effects with it and it is easy to do.

As soon as I can get my photo upload to work, I will add individual card photos

Date: Wednesday, September 20th
Time: 6:00 - 8:00
Cost: $35 + GST and includes a $22 stamp set and all other products...

Many of you know that not only does Spellbinders have a ton of different dies to work with, but also has some pretty wonderful stamp and stamp/die sets to have fun with. For our 5th Spellbinders Educator class we will be creating two cards with one of the newer stamp sets! Not only that, we will be working with watercolour pencils!

We will go over some very basic watercolour techniques as well as have fun using a couple of background techniques. As Sabrina will be instructing Spectrum Noir AquaBlend watercolour classes this Fall, this will be a great time to come and play and see if you would like to add water colouring to your list of creative skills for some of your future card making adventures.

Be sure to take care going through this list so that you do not forget anything.

BRING TO CLASS: non-stick craft mat, washi tape, one of your smooth (not used) die cutting plates (or plexi piece about that size), a fine mist water mister, synthetic water brushes - 2 round (fine and med) & 2 flat (1/4" & 1/2"), and/or Aqua pens (brushes that hold water), a water bottle with water, an empty jar with a lid, a yogurt or margarine lid (or watercolour pallet), clear stamp blocks, a gray & black pigment ink like Archival or VersaFine ink pads, stamp cleaner, scissors, craft knife, heat tool, mini-glue dots, double sided adhesive, white pop dots/3D Foam Squares/Tape, a few pieces of paper towel, & a notebook and pencil. WATERCOLOUR PENCILS - You may bring your own watercolour pencils to this class, or start to purchase the Spectrum Noir AquaBlend water colour pencils through Stacey. There are 4 sets of 24 pencils, and the Primaries set is the one used for this class. If you wish to order these in time for class, you will need to do so ASAP.

There will be a limited number of watercolour AquaBlend pencils for you if you want to give it a go, but do not currently have any watercolour pencils.
