Pink Heart Valentine Scrapbook Page

This was an exercise for me to try to use several techniques on a single scrapbook page. I used Core'dinations paper embossed with Cuttlebug's Floral Fantasy folder and sanded to expose the white core of the paper. Since the heart was too large for the Cuttlebug the heart is in two pieces with the seam covered by the Photo placement background. I've never used so many bottons on a project before, and is quite attractive on this page.

The silver heart button I had to cut off the back part so that I could adhere the button flat. The black and gray medalions I stamped and cut out with scissors. The top and bottom one are stamped with simple sentiments and are raised with pop dots.

I created the balck and white striped envelope to hold two tags for love notes to each other. The pink letters on the envelope are edged using a black gel pen. Gray and pink hearts of various sizes were cut on the Cricut using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, are adhered all over the page.

the flourished "Cherish" is stamped on the page and the sentiment is raised with 3D tape.

Detail shots -

I gifted this page to my daughter Dana, since she has her husband Valentine to use this page for, and I no longer do.

3-D Circle Card

Valentine's Trio

I applogize for the poor photo. These cards are made with scraps and are non-traditional colours for Valentine cards. The colours of a deep burgany purple with rose, cream or gold.

Used a Marths Stewart border punch on this one.

Stamped "My Love" on the ribbon and embelished on either side with a rhinestone.

Stickles Caddy!

The one thing I really haven't been able to find a storage solution for is my Stickles. They're too tall for the bins I use for everything else! So I was very excited to find Scrapcessories on ScrapGuy's blog.
This picture is to small to see well, but there are better images at the website. This insert goes inside a stackable container!

They also offer Cricut cartridge storage solutions, but I'm good with how I have mine right now.

Two New Inspirational Cards

Well, she's done it again! Mariana Grigsby created a magnificent masterpiece! My favorite part is the stamped clear paper and how it's more of a background than the main focal point. I also like the Cuttlebug-ed edge and the random pearl embellishments.

Ashley Cannon Newell's masterpiece is stunning! Lots of PTI in there!

(The colors were inspired by an embellishment challenge here.)

Friendship

I started this one out with just the 2 scrap deckled rectangles from Stef. I wanted to try out my new friendship stamp (quoted below) and my new Brilliance ink in Pearlescent Crimson. From there, I wanted to go sort of organic because the stamp talked about soil and such. I added the ribbon, picked the flower stamp, elongated the stem to go up the side of the card (VersaMagic Cloud White ink), added a rhinestone and then stamped the corner flourishes in Memento Tangelo. I love it except for my attempt to layer Memento Cottage Ivy ink parallel to the Cloud White. It's barely visible though so I won't cry. ;)

The quote says:

A friendship can
weather most
things and
thrive in thin
soil;
but it needs a
little mulch of
letters and
phone calls, and
small, silly
presents every
so often-
just to save it
from drying out
completely.

Fabulous Frazes

Another find, thanks to ScrapGuy! Fabulous Frazes is a two-sided sticky sheet that you can use with glitter, flocking, microbeads or any other type of powder-type embellishment. Plus, it can be cut with your Cricut! Or you can get pre-cut phrases.

I'm super excited to try this one!

Copics 101 - Card #2

This is the second card I created at that Copics 101 class. Again, a juvenile project, but I liked how I dressed it up.

Stamp Using Foil!

Add a little bling to your stamping projects!

I found Stampee.net through Scrapguy's blog. He does a great demo of Stampee's Stamp-n-Foil here.

There are metallic, glitter and holographic foils that you just melt onto your stamped cardstock or chipboard! It looks so easy and fun!

Just Married

Here's a sneak peak of one of the cutest wedding cards I've ever seen! Click here to see the rest of the card and all its details! The "fake stitching" is a technique I keep seeing but keep forgetting to use!

Porpoise?

I recently attended a Copics 101 class at a local scrapbooking store. The information was pertinent but the projects, in my opinion, were rather juvenile. Regardless, I did my best to dress it up.

Congratulations

It's hard to tell but the color beneath the teal is a really dark brown. I just loved how these colors looked together and so made a card out of them.

Stamp It! Cards Magazine

Another beautiful card from Dawn McVey PLUS an endorsement for Stamp It! Cards 2010. I've never checked this magazine out before but if Dawn is saying "WOW!" then I gotta have it!

New Paper Trimmer

My current paper trimmer sucks.

It's a Fiskars but I've used other Fiskars that are better than the one I own.

I'm excitedly awaiting delivery of my newest trimmer: the limited-edition blue one from Provocraft that matches my Cricut and my mother's Your Story. It will also match my brand new Cuttlebug (from Oh My Crafts)!!

However, I just read about a new trimmer that's coming out from Westcott... Looks and sounds awesome! Click here to read the blurb.

Scrapbooking vs Cards

I've realized that I've really gone more towards cards than scrapbooking but that there is definitely a place for both! It's hard to resist getting back into scrapping after seeing pages such as this!
I found these over at the Scraps of Life blog, where Christy is part-owner of MondayNightClass.ca (blogs here and here) in association with Allison. I just LOVE the flowers and flip-flops!

Stamping and Copics on Fabric!

Yep, you read that title right! This baby undershirt was stamped and then colored with Copic markers! What an amazing concept! Click here for instructions.
