Merry Christmas Everyone!

I can't believe how long it has been since my last post! It certainly hasn't felt that long! Let me begin by thanking you all for following my blog and for sharing it with others. It is greatly appreciated, and I love sharing with you the things that I have made; whether they are personal creations, or for the Scrapbook Parade kits. And in that light, I would like to wish you all a wonderful and very MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Obviously a few things have been happening to prevent me from posting lately.

FIRST:

Since moving back to Alberta, I have had wonderful doctors that have helped me keep my back pain under better control, and therefore was given the OK to go back into the workforce on a part-time basis. So I have been actively job searching, and you know how much time that can take out of a day. So I took a little time off to fulfill my job searching, and just this Thursday the 17th, I had my first day at work after 10 years.

SECOND:

At the beginning of October a family member ended up hospitalized, and though recovering well, is still in the hospital. Don't worry, it isn't Covid related, but it did affect our available time at the beginning of it all.

THIRD:

At the beginning of November I finally have moved into my own place after having lived with my Dad for close to a year and a half, and then with my lovely daughter and her family for two years. And of course this had to happen not long after the hospitalization. I still have some unpacking and organization to do, but I hope to have that done by the new year.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

So now that I have employment, I will not have as much time to devote to papercrafting and designing kits. I am not quitting, just letting you know that there may not be as many posts. Perhaps once I get settled into my job, I could increase the posts again, but I don't know for sure yet. So I hope you will be patient a little while longer as my schedule becomes settled and more familiar.

I do plan to make a couple of posts on my favourite projects of 2020 in the new year, so be sure to look for that. I hope that you enjoy the posts I have made thus far over the years, and please feel free to leave any requests or suggestions in a comment below if you wish.

Merry Christmas,

Working On Another Christmas Card Kit

Hi everyone! Welcome back.

I do not know when this will be completed and available for you because I have to slow down my schedule somewhat with certain things going on in my life. I will, or I should say Carol at Scrapbook Parade will announce when it will be available.

I am working with another Maja Design paper pad; 'Holiday in the Alps'. Again, such beautiful paper and lovely colours to work with. These cards will be a cleaner Shabby Chic style, that will take less time to create. No paper distressing, no 'snowing' the paper edges. These cards will also be a totally different size than what we are accustom to as they are closer to a European card size. Because the cards will be too thick to put into envelopes anyway, we do not have to worry about envelopes. However, if made in a more flat style they would fit into a coin envelope #7 I believe. Or you can use your Envelope punch board to create the size needed as this size card is on the board. I will include a card box/envelope design for this size card that will be available to everyone whether you purchase a kit or not.

So this is what I have accomplished so far. I have 3 gatefolds ready to embellish, and have two more cards to get to that point. These two will just be a regular fold, not gatefolded.

This photo shows the three gatefolded cards, and more paper to use for the other two cards and making of embellishments.

If you want to go ahead and get your name on the list for this kit, let Carol know via messaging her on the Scrapbook Parade Facebook page. Sometimes these kits sell out fast as there is a limited number of kits available.

How will I embellish them? Watch for the kit announcement to see the completed cards.

Happy Card Making!

Coming Soon! Square Card Box Envelopes 2 Ways!

Hello & Welcome Back!

Today I am making a tutorial announcement! In a couple of days I will be posting another kit for Scrapbook Parade; a Christmas in July kit using 'Joyous Winterdays' from Maja Design. These cards are all bulky, square, Shabby Chic cards, that do not fit into a standard envelope, so I thought a tutorial on what you can make as a square box envelope would be in order. I will be showing you how to do this two different ways. One using the Envelope Punch Board, and one using the Scoreboard.

I hope to have the tutorial ready for you some time within the first 2 weeks of July. So be sure to
check in every so often, or enter your mail on the right (Subscribe to Our Posts Via Email) to be notified with every post made. Thanks for popping by today, and see you again next time.

HAPPY CREATING!

Exciting Announcement!

Some of the people that follow my blog are from Victoria, BC, where I taught classes for seven years. I would like to thank those lovely ladies for taking those classes, and for the comradery we shared. I left the Island in February of this year and am enjoying living with my daughter and her family. Since leaving the Island and teaching classes, I have not done very much in the line of papercrafting, as evident in the great drop in my posts.

One of the places I taught classes at in Victoria, was Scrapbook Parade, from around 2012 to 2014 or so. After that I taught at home for a couple of years as a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, and then was asked to teach at Scrapbook Essentials, BC for a couple of years from 2017 through 2018.

For the past nine months I have enjoyed being a grandma and doing other things. I have kept in touch off and on with some of the ladies in Victoria, and have been asked if I would continuing designing for the purpose of making kits to sell in Victoria. After some thought, I realized it was time to accept the invitation.

So to those that have taken classes from me in the past and are still following my blog, I will be a part of your papercrafting once again, though not in person.

To read the announcement Scrapbook Parade made and see some of the other kits that are available in their latest newsletter, here is the link.

I look forward to posting my designs again and share ideas with you all. The first kits available will be in January 2020, so you will start to see a few more posts again.

Happy Papercrafting everyone!

Extra! Extra! Read All About It! Changes Coming!

Hello dear friends and followers,

This is happening sooner than I thought, and quite suddenly. I have been working towards an early retirement and a move back to where Dana lives, and despite certain delays in some areas of the plan, other things are moving forward quickly. I am moving back to Calgary!

What does this mean? Well over the next two months you will not be seeing very many posts of creative projects made. It does not mean the blog is shutting down, it just means there will be a delay in seeing new projects. There are thoughts and ideas brewing around in my head for some other changes, but will not affect this blog. So if you will be patient, you will see more projects posted here again in the future.

After February, I will no longer be teaching classes at Scrapbook Essentials, BC, but until then there may be a few more posts related to the classes I teach until I leave.

I look forward to being with Dana and the grandchildren again, and to my new adventure.

So in the mean time, if you are seeking inspiration, might I suggest browsing through the nearly 10 years of blog posts. On the side bar, click on a year and see what you find!

Happy creating everyone!

The First Spellbinders Educator Class Photos

Sharing with you some photos, today, of our first Spellbinders Educator classes held Wednesday. We had so much fun! This was not a class with spurts of complete silence that happens when everyone is fussy cutting, but instead moments of loud noises as people cranked their die cutting machines.

I shared all the great things about Spellbinders' new Platnum6 and Prizm, the Tool-in-One, discussed using and care of Spellbinders dies, and of course made two cards with the beautiful Tuscany Strip die.

In this first photo you can see everyone that is in this first class of the day. (We had a second class in the evening, but I forgot to take photos. Sorry to those that took the evening class)

Here are some photos of busy hands and their end results.

We are all really looking forward to the next Spellbinders Educator class!

Thank you for stopping by to have a peek at our class.

Exciting News!

Hello everyone!

Today, I will be sharing some pretty exciting news for those of you that have not yet heard about it, and over the next few days be posting further about it all.

Yesterday, Scrapbook Essentials BC made a big announcement and reveal at their Bi-annual Open House. It is all about the Spellbinders Canada Educator program! I was one of 10 store instructors across Canada chosen to participate in the program!! Of course, I am super excited.

This is what Stacey posted on the Scrapbook Essentials Facebook page.

"So....we announced our special reveal today at our Open House. Wow! Was it ever hard not to tell people before today. But we are so glad we didn't as we were able to tell so many people in person at the same time.

While at the Creativation show in Phoenix, I learned about a NEW program that was in the works with Spellbinders. This NEW program was for CANADA and is the Canadian Educator Program. The instant I heard about this program, I thought of Sabrina right away. So....I filled out an application, gathered testimonials, and had Sabrina put together a profile, included all of her social media links and submitted her application. Anticipation almost got the best of me waiting a few weeks....and then the news arrived. Sabrina was one of the 10 maximum candidates to represent Spellbinders Canada as a Spellbinders Canadian Educator! She will be teaching exclusively through our studio and is the only Educator on Vancouver Island. Classes will be held monthly and will focus on the latest products offered through Spellbinders.
We are so excited about this new addition to the studio and are thrilled to be representing Spellbinders Canada!"
Here are some of the photos from the reveal...

 Me at the display table...

Here are a couple of the cards I created using these newly released stamps and dies by Spellbinders.

 Isn't that owl adorable?

I was surprised by the cake Stacey ordered...

It was wonderful to be able to share with everyone all the great products from Spellbinders with everyone and answer their questions. I myself am so excited that I now want a Prizm along with a ton of other product.

This will be great as a portable die cutting & emboss tool to take to crops for those smaller dies!

Over the next few days you will see posts related to the rest of the cards made for this reveal as well as the first Spellbinders class in April! I look forward to many more Spellbinders classes and representing Spellbinders as a Canadian Spellbinders Educator.

Happy creating everyone!

Instructions Now For Sale!

The BoBunny Planner class is done, and I can now post the instructions to this planner. I have posted them on my "Paper Architecture" blog and you can purchase them from there.

We had a great time, and now you can get the instructions and create one, because you were not able to attend the class here. Of course this planner can be adapted as a Wedding Planner, Trip Planner, Family Reunion Planner, etc.

Happy creating!

News and Graphic 45 Time to Celebrate Cards in a Gift Box

Hello everyone! It's Sabrina here today with some news and things to share.

When a person is running two home based businesses with two other blogs, you don't have much time to post on this creative blog. But there is news for you. I have been asked to teach classes at Scrapbook Essentials BC starting in the Fall. I'm thinking that my main focus of these classes will be working with my favorite Graphic 45 products. So that means you will be getting some more posts on this blog!

Today I am sharing the photos of a class based on the 8 x 8 pad of G45 Time to Celebrate. These six cards will be in a card box to use as a wonderful Christmas gift, or other occasion gift.
Let's begin with the card box.

And here is everything together...

Now, let's have a look at each card individually. I will show you the card itself and then a collage showing the side view to see any dimensional pop up and an inside view.

Birthday

Graduate

Celebrate

Wedding

In the collage below, I'm holding the card in hopes the clear Wink of Stella would show up. Didn't help much, but believe me when I say that you can see it in person. All the cards have some on them, but for the wedding card, the entire dress is covered in it. Wish you could see it.

Anniversary

Because  of the landscape nature of this card, I could not make a collage of these two images.

Baby

I kept everything fairly simple for this project so that we can complete the project in the time frame of this class.

This class will be in September, so if you live in the Victoria BC area, watch for the posting of more class details.

Happy creating everyone! It's nice to be back.
