Elegant Ivory and Colours

-A series of classes where we pick a basic colour and then choose colours that will work with it and portray different feelings.

Ivory is the inspiration for this card class and we will play with a few colours to pair up with it.

The masculine card, the first on the left, I kept very ivory and added a bit of brown.

I used Spellbinder's M-Bossabilities Flora in the background inking the folder with Tim Holtz Antique Linen to slightly darken the background of the embossing. The Leaf Filled Flourish die is a MFT Die-Namics die, and the sentiment die is Spellbinder's Labels 28 with the sides trimmed off to narrow it to fit the MFT Birthday Gift Card stamps. And to finish if off I used Dark Chocolate Liquid Pearls. This masculine card is 5 1/2" Sq.

Now let's look at a small 4 1/4" circular feminine card.

For the shape and base of this card I used Spellbinder's Beaded Circles die as well as Standard Circles Large for a two layered frame. Then I used MFT Fancy Flourish Die-Namics, and their Upsy Daisy dies.

Here is another view of the card.

Bisque Liquid Pearls were used for the finishing touches.

I hope you can see the layers involved in this next view of the card.

Next I used what is normally considered more masculine colours, joining them with ivory and adding a bit of a feminine twist with the large bow and flowers.

Again I sued Spellbinder's M-Bossability folder Flora using the other side of it. The flowers dies are from MFT and called Winter Rose Die-Namics. i alternated the ivory and black for a dramatic look.

Here is another view of the card.

For this last card I thought it would be fun to throw in a lot of colour with ivory and change the mood.

I did a lot of die cutting for this card. Using MFT's Stacked Star Die-Namics I cut several stars out of the ivory and randomly glued them onto the ivory cardstock. I love the effect and will try it again on future projects. Then using the same die I went to my bulging scrap bins (sorted by colour thank goodness) and chose some bright colours to go with Bazzill Rain cardstock, which is the primary colour to go with the ivory, and die cut a set from each of the 5 colours I chose and created the star combinations you see.

I popped the stars up at varying heights by layering dimensionals from 1 to 3 in height, and positioning them on the card. I love the contrast of the elegant ivory and the fun bright colours together on the same card.

Hope you had fun touring this card set. Thank you for stopping by to have a look. Hope you gleaned some inspiration for your creations.

Happy Papercrafting everyone!
