Christmas Shadow Box - Scrapbook Parade Nov Stay-at-home Retreat

Just completed another project for the November Stay-at-Home Retreat classes.

So, I started with this...

...a 7 Gypsies 8 x 8 shadowbox and roughly dry painted it with acrylic paint to give it a more shabby chic look while using a few of the beautiful Kaisercraft Twig & Berry paper collection to come up with this Christmas shadowbox.

With this project I decided to use a fussy cutting tip I heard on YouTube a while back, but never had the chance to use the tip. I'm never going to fussy cut without using this tip! It was great! The cutting was so much easier and went a little quicker too. The tip is to use metal foil tape sheets. You roughly cut around what you'll fussy cut and attach the tape to the back and cut. You'll love it! I used Rangers Foil Tape Sheets. I love how you can bend and shape things after they're cut out.

Here are some more photos of the project to give a more detailed look.

  And the back has a place for a 5 x 7 photo...

Hope you enjoyed your look at the Christmas shadowbox and are inspired to make one of your own. Remember to try the metal foil sheets for your fussy cutting. You won't regret it.

I hope to be back in a day or two with a Kaisercraft Advent! Having a few production difficulties with it when the wind blew newspaper on it while still wet with paint, so I have to fix that up, but it's coming soon! Bye for now.
