Hello everyone!
This post is threefold. 1) to showcase the next card kit available at Scrapbook Essentials BC that can be purchased at the store or ordered from Stacey and shipped. They are going fast and are not even in the store yet! 2) have larger and more images to view for those that purchase the kit. 3) to inspire my blog followers with ideas for their own creations.
This is a smaller kit compared to some of the earlier ones, but has some fun techniques.
SCRAPBOOK ESSENTIALS BC announces -
Sabrina's Card Kit #7 is ready! This is a smaller kit compared to the others, but you will have fun making paper ruffles, using NUVO Crystal Drops, and getting your fingers dirty to get that vintage look. You will also be using two ink colours on some of the paper edges! Yes, two! You will be surprised at the improved look of using two colours to add a hint of colour without taking away much from the monochromatic look of most of these cards.
This is a card kit using the Authentique "Always" 6 x 6 paper pad! You can create a classic Black & Cream set of cards, with a vintage look, that can be used for Weddings, Anniversaries, Friends, or just to tell someone you love them.

So let's have a closer look at the cards.
For this first card, there are strips with mitered corners that create a frame around the edges of the card. I love doing that with striped paper!
Here is a closer look at three things; 1) the flower created with the die cuts in the kit, 2) the two bows and how they are attached, and 3) you can see a hint of the Distress Tattered Rose ink added around the sentiment cut-a-part along with the Distress Pumice Stone that was used to give a vintage look. I love to add a second subtle colour to vintage inking, I just don't do it often enough.
You can see that I used the Tattered Rose around the Cream cardstock too. It adds a little colour without taking away from the vintage look.
In the photos below, you can see how I layered and popped up the pieces on this card.
This card is one of the easiest in the kit to make. Again I used the two colours of ink around the doily this time. And one of my favourite products to have on hand are the NUVO Crystal Drops. Here I used the Bubblegum Blush which is a good match to the Distress Tattered Rose ink.
Some of my dots ran together or are not as equally spaced as I would like, but the effect is still good. In the photo below, you can see that I used a thin layer to fill in the heart that is printed on the paper. It helps to make the heart pop out a bit more.
From this side view, you can see how the doily and sentiment cut-a-part are both popped up. The bow that I pinched at the knot and attached, I decided to cut at an angle at the end of the loops making it look more like a large tassel.
Next we have a card where I decided to add some colour to, not only with the NUVO Bubblegum Blush Crystal Drops, but with Olive Crepe Ribbon as well.
The fun part about creating this card, is making the paper ruffles attached to the bottom of the card. I always love using this technique with paper where you can shape it when you wet the paper and dry it.
In the close up below, you will see that used the NUVO drops to create two little flowers and added a border of drops around the sentiment cut-a-part.
From the two side views below, you can see how the layers are popped up, and the ruffles are lined up.
This next card uses the Altenew "Lace Die" for the edges of the cream cardstock pieces. It is a real easy die to use as the bits and pieces cut away are real easy to get out of the die.
The butterflies are inked on both sides with Distress Tattered Rose so that you can see the colour from the bottom of the butterfly when the wings are folded upward.
As you can see in the above photo, the bird cage is sponged with Tattered Rose to make it stand out just a bit more. In the photo below, a closer look to see the butterflies and the Bubblegum Blush drops.
Te side views show better the layering of the banner pieces and which ones are popped up.
For the final card of this kit, there is a lot more mitering to create this L-shaped corner miter. The outside miter is popped up, while the inner two are not. You will note that there is no hint of tattered Rose on this card as I assumed this would be given to a husband, boyfriend or son. If you plan on giving this to the female counterparts, then you can always add the hint of Tattered Rose when you are creating this card.
Below is a closer look at the NUVO Ebony Black Crystal Drops used for the butterfly body.
And, the next two photos show how everything is layered and popped up.
Thank you so much for purchasing this kit through Scrapbook Essentials BC. Contact Stacey at sbebc2011@gmail.com or 778-533-4290 to see if there are kits still available to purchase (you can have it shipped to you if you are not in town).
Hope these have given you some inspiration too, for your own creations. Happy creating!
