Iris Celebration - Graphic 45 May Challenge

- so excited to actually get a chance to participate in a G45 challenge!!!

A couple of weeks ago, my brother-in-law and I went over to my mother-in-law's, after church, for a visit. The main reason was to celebrate the full bloom of hundreds of purple and yellow Irises in her back yard. I decided to use a couple of the photos I took, convert them to B&W and use some G45 paper I bought a while back but haven't had the chance to use yet. One of my favorite lines! A Ladies Diary!

With the exception of the fussy cut flowers, everything was ink distressed with Tim Holtz Distress inks, combining Pumice Stone and Vintage Photo. When I tested the Tea Dye, it was too orange, so these worked well together for the look and colour I wanted.

Next you see a lot of photos showing the layout in detail and from different angles.

While making this layout I decided I would use a wonderful front opening shadow box I got on sale a long time ago and use more of the "A Ladies Diary" paper to line it and add to the frame around the glass of the magnetic door that opens up. Then I'm going to give it to my mother-in-law for her birthday in September. She'll be turning 87! (I think. I should check on this) I can't believe what she still all does!

Well, thank you for stopping by to have a look at my challenge entry. Hope you have a great day, and happy papercrafting everyone!
