I've combined the Card Patterns Sketch 131 challenge with that of The Beauty of Color of Flourishes challenge. This month for The Beauty of Color challenge, Flourishes is asking us to use monochromatic colors for our designs. I remembered a paper flower I had left over in a light dusty rose that I had made using the scalloped circle Spellbinders die. Finding it, made the monochromatic color choice for me; shades of dusty rose!
The sentiment is Flourishes "Life Lines". The edges othe leaves I distressed with Vintage Sepia. I'm a little disapointed in the end result of my liquid pearls though. When it was starting to dry, something fell on top of them and they aren't as nice looking as a result. To see what other tools were used for this project see below.
Scallop Circle Flower
I thought I would included how I made the flower for those who may not have seen this done.
Using Spellbinders scalloped circles (I opted to cut 3-1 for each layer) but you could use just 2, or more if you want. Using your choice of ink color with an ink blending foam or a dauber, color the center of the top layer. With each layer, cut in between each scallop toward the circle center but leave enough to create the flower center. One of the cuts has to go ritght to the center though. Use a pencil or paint brush to roll the petal ends. With base layer being larger and each layer thereafter smaller, overlap where you cut right to the center. Cut off the extra scallop petals not needed when gluing together each layer shape. Glue the layers together in the center. Do any recurling or rearanging of petals if needed and then place in the center, your choice of center for your flower. I chose pearls.
I hope these instructions are clear enough. I'm sure there is enough to give creative people like you enough to work with and experiment with.
Thanks for stoping by.
