Family, Heart & Home; a Scrapbook Page Just For Me - Sabrina

I haven't created a scrapbook page in a while, so I went to my sorted photos and pulled out an envelope. It happened to be one labeled "Children helping around the house". (a couple of years ago I sorted through years of photos, dividing them up for the seven of us in the family, and then organized mine by topic, labeling each of the 46 manilla envelopes)

It was a challenge to come up with a layout this time and find a paper combination, embellishments, etc. together for the double page layout. I usually like to have it all organized before I start to puting it all together. I do allow myself to make changes as I go, should I feel there is something better to do to improve the layout.

Anyway, here it is. The photos for this project are not as good as I had hoped for, so I'm not including all the planned photos, some of which included each of the two pages individually for a closer view, and some of the other detail photos that I nixed as well.

In these close ups, the text you see are of two different sources. On the left is a sheet (2 1/2 inch sqare matchbook) of preprinted velum. I trimmed it down a bit, mounted onto a cream background, with a red frame cut with Spellbinders Squares. I used Baby Blue Liquid Pearls at the corners.

On the right you see the title of the layout. This is a combination of two different  rub on kits that I had picked up at a dolloar store a year or two ago. I don't quite had the stamp collection like Dana has ;).

It took a lot of time finding and arranging the buttons, but I think worth it. Don't you think the buttons add a bit of a homey feeling to the layout?

It's always fun to reminice a little when creating a scrapbook page. This one covered nearly 30 years! And I wondered if I thanked my children enough for the help they did do around the house as we worked on chores. I think a result of doing this, is now that my children are all grown up, I can see that they are all hard workers and am proud of them for being so.

Thanks for viewing my posting today and leaving your comment. There's a surprise coming soon to this blog, so you'll want to check in regularly for the next while.
