Come Away With Me Cards With A Twist - Class

Welcome!

Today I'll be showing you the last card of four in the "Come Away With Me" Cards With A Twist Class being held in September. This one is almost like two cards in one, and has a hidden place for a gift card or prepay credit card. Great card for a graduate, or a loved one that has saved for that special trip! With different paper, it will work for any situation.

So let's have a look at the card in more detail.

You will note the tabs on the front of the card. These where created using my Envelope Punch board. When you untuck the center tab the bottom part falls down and you see this.

...the gift card tucked in it's pocket. When we lift up the top flap, you see this.

Lot's of writing real estate! Here on the front, AND just like on a regular card too!

Hope you enjoyed seeing these four cards, and that you are inspired to make more cards outside of the usual and traditional. Thank you for stopping by these four days! Here is a collage of all four cards.

Happy Cardmaking Everyone!

Come Away With Me Cards With A Twist - Class

Good to have you drop by again!

Today I'm sharing the "Hidden Gift Card" card. Mentioning for those that didn't stop in on the previous two cards, that I used Graphic 45's "Come Away With Me" 6 x 6 pad and the Chipboard #2 set. So let's have a look at the card from different angles, and see if you can guess where a gift card can be hidden from view in this card.

I'm pretty sure you can guess with these close up photos. So the next photo reveals all!

I love it! Don't you? This makes a wonderful 'Bon Voyage' card, but ith different paper this would make a great birthday card, wedding card, graduation card, and more.

Next you'll see a gift card in the slot. Sorry that the image is a little blurry.

It's wonderful to have you stop in again! See you tomorrow for the last card of this class set.

Come Away With Me Cards With A Twist - Class

Hello!

Today I'm sharing with you the second card of four for a class I'm teaching in September. This one is the "Card With-In A Card". Again, these cards are made using Graphic 45's "Come Away With Me" 6 x 6 pad and the Chipboard #2 set.

I think you can see how when you open the card on front, there is another panel that needs to be opened to see all the inside of the card. Here are a few more photos showing you this card.

And this next one shows you the card on the inside.

Of course you can embellish the inside nicely with some stamping.

Hope you are having fun view these cards. Tomorrow you will see the "Hidden Gift Card" card. Thank you for checking in to have a peek!

Come Away With Me - Cards With A Twist Class

Welcome!

For the next four days I'll be showing a set cards I will be teaching in September. These are simple cards, but each is unique, a card with a twist. All cards are created using the Graphic 45 "Come Away With Me" 6 x 6 pad and the Chipboard #2 package. I'll post them in the order you see in the above photo.

Today is the "Twist On A Gate-Card".

The twist for this card is the interlocking tabs placed on the front of the card. Here are a few more photos showing the card from different angles.

You can of course open the card a bit more when standing, I just wanted you to see more of the outside. Next, views of the card laying down.

Now for the card fully open.

You could do some lovely stamping on these inner side panels!

Thank you for stopping by to have a look. See you tomorrow for the "Card With-In A Card".

Guest Designer for Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog - Embossing

As you know, I'm a guest designer at Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog for July, and they are having their 12th challenge right now. The challenge is to use some form of 'embossing' on your project. Types of embossing to choose from are dry embossing using a folder, heat embossing with powders, die embossing, and of course the currently popular and trendy paste embossing! As I don't have any embossing paste yet, that left me with three choices. I decided to use all three of them on a card!

The underlying cream rectangle was dry embossed using the Cuttlebug folder "Grace's Frame". The die cut oval was also embossed using Spellbinders' "Floral Ovals", and the flowers and leaves are all heat embossed on colored paper using white embossing powder and then cut out. Embossing overkill? Well maybe...

I used 'Rusty Hinge' Tim Holtz Distress ink and ink blending tool to edge my papers with. Here are some more photos showing some of the details of this card.

What is your favorite embossing technique? What would you create using all three of these embossing techinques? Why don't you hop on over to Craft Hoarders Anonymous and check out what the DT has posted to inspire you, and join in on the challenge! You could win a wonderful prize and be a guest designer yourself!

Thank you for stopping by, and of course, Happy Papercrafting!

Canvas Encased Hidden Mini - Botanical Tea

It has been a while since my last post. A number of things have kept me from doing so. But, I'm finally able to now share with you the latest project I've created for Paper Architecture With Sabrina.

Some of you will be familiar with the class "Hidden Mini" that I taught a while back in 2012 using Graphic 45' "Ladies Diary".  Some have asked since then that I make instructions for a similar project. And here it is!

This time, rather than the 8 x 8 stretched canvases used for the first project, I'm using 7 x 5 canvas frames from a 'dollar' store, and Graphic 45's 8 x 8 Botanical Tea paper collection.

Here are a few more photos of the framed canvas casing of the mini...

...and the mini album within...

Here is a walk-through video showing you more details of this beautiful and unique project.

If you are interested in purchasing the instructions to make yourself a similar project, link to my online Paper Architecture Zibbet store to find the instructions there. The latest set of instructions are always the first one listed.

Thank you for stopping in for a look, and Happy Papercrafting!

Guest Designer for Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog

It's been so long since I made this layout for Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog, that I forgot to post this as a Guest Designer for Challenge 11! I'll be a Guest designer for the month of July which includes Challenge 12 as well. But let's get back to Challenge 11!

Challenge #11 Tag, You're It!
Use a tag on your project. Create a handmade gift tag. Create a tag mini album. Add tags to your scrapbook layout or your card. You may use some hoarded tag-shaped packaging or you may cut tags from scrap paper using a die cut template. Maybe you hoard shipping tags of all sizes. As long as your project contains some sort of tag, you will meet the requirements to play along!
You still have a week to play in Challenge #11! You have until midnight PT, July 20th to link up your creation.
Now for my "Tag" project. Using Graphic 45's French Country and recent photos of my youngest daughter's recent trip to Europe this past April, I thought it might be fun to see if I could create a layout using Graphic 45's Regular Tag Album. Some tags I cut down in size.

And here are some photos showing some details of the layout.

There are five other Guest Designers for this challenge! Check out these amazing designers and their creations at Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #11. You might like to see the prize too, from Crafter's Companion and Spectrum Noir!

Happy Papercrafting!
