Masculine Family Birthday Card - 49th & Market, Laser Chipboard & NUVO Mousse

Hello Everyone,

I am guessing that some of you are wondering why I haven't posted in a while. Well a lot has happened besides my move to Calgary, and I will leave it at that for now. Still working on getting some of my class designs scheduled, and those posts are waiting for class info before I can officially post them.

I have really missed not having the time to create something. And I mean really miss it, but I haven't finished unpacking yet! This is due to the unexpected things that came up. But with a masculine family birthday upon the horizon, I said 'to heck with not having my craft room all set up', and created a quick card using leftover pieces of 49th & Market paper and some Creative Embellishments laser cut chipboard ferns.

A quick and easy card!

The heat embossed stamped sentiment is double heat embossed to give the gold a thicker look and more raised from the paper. I hope you can see that better in the following photo.

The laser cut ferns from Creative Embellishments I covered with Seaspray Green NUVO Mousse and then when dry, brushed on some Indian Gold NUVO Mousse. I love the look of these patina metallic looking ferns. It helps to give it a little more a masculine look. Don't you think?

Here is a closer look at some of the ferns.

I wanted to use my gold Gel Pen around the edges of the lighter paper against the darker green, but found I have misplaced the pen. But my card is ready to go even without that for this early April masculine birthday.

I hope you have enjoyed viewing this card, and feel free to share your thoughts on this card.

Until next time, Happy Creating!

A Simple Birthday Card For a Grandaughter - G45 'Fairie Dust'

My grandchildren are getting older, and for most of them I can not make those cute little fun kind of children's cards any longer. For a granddaughter turning 9, this pretty paper from Graphic 45 the  'Fairie Dust' collection, works just fine. I forgot to glimmer up the wings though!

As you can see this is a quick and easy, and a mailable card. Just fussy cut around the broader of this cut-a-part from the paper cutting away the framing but leaving what went over the edge of the inner frame.

You can see in the photo below, that the layering was simple too.

I always enjoy making cards for family members, but it is even more special when it is for a grandchild.

Happy creating everyone!

Another 'Not For Class' Post - Spellbinders & Graphic 45

As I said a couple of days ago, when I posted two other birthday cards, one of my favourite Graphic 45 collections is the 'Floral Shoppe' collection. Today I added a piece of light yellow card stock that matches the background yellow of the paper beneath.

I used the Spellbinders 'Botanical Heart Pair' to die cut from the dark purple blue script paper as well as the white botanical heart. The sentiment stamp is from Altenew's 'Build a Birthday' stamp set.

Here is a bit of a close up side view focusing on the heart.

In this next photo you can see the layering of the card.

Hope that you liked this card. I love seeing the rose peeking through the details of the die cut.

Happy creating!

G45 Floral Shoppe Square Cards

Have I said before how much I love Graphic 45 paper?  This is one of the greats I'd say. Any way I have created some cards that involve a fair bit of layered fussy cutting.
 And, these are they.

The interesting thing is, that before I got the information to post this class, the class is already full!

UPDATE: This class is now FULL. Taking a wait list. Contact Stacey to be added to the wait list. We might end up with a second class if the wait list starts to fill up.  sbebc2011@gmail.com  or  778-533-4290

G45 Floral Shoppe Card Class
WHEN: Wednesday, May 9th
TIME: 6:00 - 8:00
COST: $35.00 + GST
The long awaited G45 Floral Shoppe paper is here and this is the first class with the gorgeous paper. We will be making four 5-1/2" square birthday cards and use the Altenew 'Birthday Builder' stamp set. (Or leave blank to add your own stamp for Mother's Day). There will be fussy cutting homework available for pick up at the April 21st Saturday Legion crop. These gorgeous flowers are calling to be cut out of the paper.
Because the hard work of fussy cutting will already be done, these cards will come together very quickly in class, and you can go home with four gorgeous cards.

PLEASE BRING TO CLASS: your homework, paper trimmer, scissors (non-stick will be good if you have any for cutting the pop ups), double sided adhesive tape, liquid glue, mini glue dots, and lots of pop ups or foam tape in both white and black, If you want to stamp the sentiments in class and do not want to use the birthday stamps, bring your own stamps, clear block and ink pad.

Let's have a closer look at each card.
