Wedding Invites

I promised myself after this experience that I would never make wedding invitations again. I can't seem to help being sucked in somehow, this time due to the small quantity required and the client's non-pickiness.

Regardless of the 30-count required, I designed the most labor-intensive invitation possible! I'm seriously in love with it, though.

The sleeve is removed to reveal the full bride and groom silhouettes.

The interior was composed of 3 layers, sewn together and patterned paper adhered to camouflage it.

I'm always happy when this type of mass production is over. :)

Welcome Baby: Baby Shower Invites

I had to whip up 50 or so baby invites in a day and this is what I came up with:

Ghoul's Night Out

I've held off on posting this because I keep trying to decide if I want to add a spider to the tree web or not... I would just be making it with a black Pebble and some embroidery thread, maybe some mini-googly eyes or white Enamel Accents. Perhaps I'll still do it; there's time until the event.

This card started out as just the spiderweb tree idea. Then I decided to do the rolling hills in patterned paper. Added inking and stitching and voila! I had quite a lovely night scene. So I made my sentiment match. This card inspired me to invite the "ghouls" out for a treat around Halloween. Not sure of the specifics, but it's as good an occasion as any to have some fun!

I actually sprayed this card with some Goosebumps Shimmer Texture Spray by Tsukineko. It's a great effect but didn't photograph well so I leave it to your imagination!

I'm entering this into Moxie Fab World's Assymetry Challenge.

The embossed tree qualifies this card for CAS-ual Fridays, though I'm not entirely sure this card qualifies as CAS...

Passport Wedding Invitations

I've been busy making up some wedding invites. Simple but still plenty of time.

The passport photo page is just blurred out information so I didn't include it. I'm no graphic designer, but I was still pleased with how the inside turned out.

The RSVP cards were postcard style. I got the template here (big timesaver!).

Activity Days Etiquette Dinner Invite

Twice a month, I assist in activities at my church for girls aged 8-11. This week, we're reinforcing manners and etiquette by serving a "fancy" dinner.

Here are a few of the invites I made up for it (when I mass-produce, I keep things mighty simple).

I used mostly Simply Jane and Fancy Flourishes for the stamping. The text was printed and it's quite apparent that I'm no graphic designer!

Birthday Invitations

I hate entertaining.

Some women love it (yes, I'm thinking of you, Stef!), but not me.

I hate purposely adding stress to my life.

Despite this, I decided my soon-to-be 4-year-old daughter deserved a birthday party.

I love to papercraft but dislike mass production.

I survived.

I started out with a prototype (see left). From this, I decided that the impressed numbers were too busy and the 4 needed pizzazz.

Aimes Wanford inspired me to break out my Linen & Canvas impression plate for the sky (Linen side). I used a Polka Dot Basics stamp  to make the 4 look like ladybug pattern (my birthday theme is ladybug/summer).

To make the invitations, I die cut PTI's Library Card in Spring Rain. All the information was typed out, printed onto white cardstock, die cut with the Library Card and adhered to the front of the invite after passing it through my Xyron after assembling everything else. I used my Corner Chomper to round the upper 2 corners with the 1/2" setting. I put a bit of magnet on the back so recipients could place it on the fridge.

The process wasn't wholly unpleasant and so the idea of making my son's birthday invites (soon!!) isn't so daunting.

Baby Shower Invites: Ariel

I ended up with some really tiny invitations! The only envelopes I had in sufficient quantity to make invitations with were my small squares... They have all the necessary info (on the back) so I guess it doesn't really matter, though I was sad not to be able to fit the baby shower stamp on the front...

I made 20 of these babies. Cutting out the undershirts was totally fine. Die-cutting and punching out the holes in the doilies, fine. What took the most effort and frustration was getting the die cuts OUT of the die!!! Ah, the pain!

I stamped and cut out the undershirts on feminine scraps I had. This was a great way to use up scraps!

Baby Shower Invites: Lindsay

I have two sister-in-laws expecting baby girls in April. This will be Lindsay's first child and Ariel's second. Lindsay's baby shower is coming up quick and I've had this project looming for some time... Such a relief to finally have it done!

I mailed the majority of invites off before getting pics but luckily had two remaining to photograph.

I got the idea from an Annie's Attic Spellbinders magazine. Since I had to be able to mass produce this project, I used my Gypsy and Cricut rather than doing everything with Spellbinders.

I chose Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet as the colors for this baby shower, as evidenced in the card I already created here. I used the Scattered Showers and Additions stamp sets... So perfect! The party info is on the back.

I got the clothespins at a dollar store and used Rose Tea Glimmermist to give them a slightly pink hue. There is magnet adhered to the back so the clothespin can be stuck to a refrigerator.

I plan on making a banner for the party with the same idea... We'll see if I actually get it done... I feel like there's always so much for me to do!

It's a Baby Shower

A whole whack of baby shower invites. I forget to get a pic of the inside but it only has "It's a Boy" stamped inside with the pertinent party information. Oh, and the sailboat from Bitty Baby Blessings stamped as well.

I cut out all the baby onesies on the Cricut using the New Arrival cartridge and Papertrey Ink's Men of Life patterned paper. I inked the edges with Aspen Mist (Versamagic) ink and ink blending foam. I popped these up on white and kraft card bases and stamped the sentiment from Baby Button Bits with Dark Chocolate ink.

The envelopes have a Michael's stamp using Paris Dusk (Memento) ink: Official Baby Business.
