Another Graphic 45 Safari Adventure Class! - Two Double Page Layouts

Trips to the zoo, even outdoorsy activities, or for the times it's like a zoo at home, are perfect occasions for these two double page layouts.

(this layout has 7 photos at 2 x 2, & 5 photos at 3 x 4)
Between the two, there are 21 photos! We will be mitering paper strips, so that your layout looks like it has several layers without all the use of so much paper. And, we will learn to use our Tim Holtz rulers to easily work with these strips and create boarders with and without the added strips. Mixing photo sizes always makes a more interesting layout, and we will have a brief discussion about photo sizes, and what photos to use in layouts, and what to discard. Getting the best of your photos to tell your story on your pages sometimes is needed as some outings, vacations and parties have a lot of photos. Save on the number of pages you create buy using the tips shared in class.

What to bring to class: Paper trimmer, scissors, 1/8" hole punch, double sided adhesive tape (like Sookwang - as some of the tips will not work with the adhesive off of dispensers), black 3D Foam Squares, Tim Holtz Ruler (if possible because some tips will not work on regular rulers), and a pencil.

When: Tuesday, March 28th
Where: 3730 Grange Road Studio
Time: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Cost: $30.00

(this layout has 1 photo at 5 x 7 , & 10 photos at 4 x 4)

See you there!

Spectrum Noir 2 Class - Blues, Yellows, & Cool Grays

These basic cards, ready for your finishing touches, are what will be the end result of our Spectrum Noir 2 class.

When: Saturday, March 18th
Time: 10:00 - 12:30 (may need an extra half hour)
Where: 3730 Grange Road in the Studio
Cost: $25 + GST for each class IF YOU HAVE THE MARKERS

Spectrum Noir Class # 2 introduces Yellows, Blues, & Cool Grays to first timers. In this class we continue with blending of colours of the same spectrum and blending different colours together. And speaking of colours, we will colour one image all in cool grays to improve our colouring techniques, and show you that you can use just one colour to make incredible images (to use on monochromatic cards if you wish and great for masculine cards, too). We will also learn two different techniques that make your images pop out of the paper more and give a hint to a background. You will also receive your usual class practice sheet as well as your good piece to colour for your basic simple cards (that you may have to complete at home as we will probably be colouring the whole class time). We will also discuss/learn about the advantages of using different Memento ink colours to stamp images with.

Please bring to class: If you already have your SPECTRUM NOIR markers - CT1, GB5, OR1, TB1, TB3, TB5, CG2 and/or DG2, IG8, IG6, IG4, IG2, IG1& Blender. To put the cards together, you will need scissors, double sided adhesive tape, 3D Foam Squares, 3/16 hole punch, & min-glue dots.

COPIC substitute marker colours - YO2, YR15, YRO4, B41, B23, B66, YGO3 or G24, C1, C2, C3, C5, C7, & Blender.

Just add your sentiments to the front, and whatever else you would like, to complete these cards.

Enhance your skills by colouring 'gray scale' or monochromatic. You'll be surprised what you learn by doing it.

The Spectrum Noir #3 class will be April 22nd, so look for the class samples coming soon.

Happy colouring, everyone!

G 45 Safari Adventure 5 x 7 Card Class

I am busy getting ready for more classes at Scrapbook Essentials, so this is just a quick post to let you know about this Graphic 45 Safari Adventure Card Class! We will be creating eight 5 x 7 (A7) cards!

8 Safari Adventure Cards

When:  Thursday, March 2nd

Where: 3730 Grange Road - in the studio

Time:  6-9pm

Cost:  $35.00 + GST

Sometimes you want to give a card that is a little more unique, one that can apply to almost any situation, a card that can be admired by both male and female alike, and perhaps hint to the exotic or adventure that lies deep within us all. And sometimes you want to give a larger card with room to write a little more. These 5 x 7 cards are for you! This set of eight cards look deceivingly simple, but upon closer inspection you see all the layers which add to the 1920's charm of this paper. One of these cards we will be creating fringe that is shaped and pinched to create a hut-like roof layered effect. This set would also make a great gift! Both men and women would love to have this eye catching set to use throughout the year. Taking the Envelope Punch Board class 'A' would be helpful for some of these cards as they are a little thicker. Most will fit an envelope, but a couple might fit just a bit better in their own envelope box.
Looking forward to seeing you at class!
Please bring the following to class:
  • paper trimmer (with a good blade on it),
  • scissors,
  • lots of black 3D Foam Squares or tape,
  • adhesive tape,
  • mini glue dots,
  • scotch tape,
  • mini-mister/water mister,
  • a silicon/teflon non-stick mat,
  • and a heat tool (the one you use for heat embossing).

SEE YOU THERE!

For those of you that are not in this area, and can't take the class, here is a close up view of each card for you. See the layered fringe on this first card! I will show you how to create this in class.

I love these cards, and it will be hard to give them away! I know I will eventually though.

Be sure to let Stacey know ASAP if you want to take this class March 2nd!  sbebc2011@gmail.com

Echo Park "Magical Adventure" (Disney) Layout Class

There's nothing like a trip to Disneyland (or Disneyworld)! That is one place where everyone takes a ton of photos. With that in mind, Sabrina has designed pages that will hold a few more photos than the average page design, and have a variety of sizes. The paper of choice for this class is the Echo Park "Magical Adventure" Collection in traditional Disney colours.

Magical Adventure DISNEY Layouts

When: Saturday, March 25th
Time: 9:30 - 12:30

Now to start your Disney album, the first page is a single page, so we will be creating one single page layout as an introduction to the rest of the album! This will be followed by three double page layouts. When we are done, you will only have stickers remaining that can still be put into your layouts if you wish, or kept for further pages. There will be space for 21 photos throughout these pages.
