Christmas Planner 2 (2014) Candy Cane Lane

Hi Everyone!

We had such an exciting week last week with our blogoversary! Again congrats to all the winners!

Nothing as exciting this week, put I do have a new Paper Architecture With Sabrina project to share with you. Do you remember the Christmas Planner I made last year? Well this year I decided to make another design for a Christmas planner. One that is easier and requires no chipboard. It is made with 100# cardstock and combined with the Tereas Collins "Candy Cane Lane" paper (Teresa's paper is always very nice and thick) it is quite sturdy.

This year the  tri-fold Christmas Planner is quick and easy to put together, and is a great project to make in an assembly line production method for several gifts if you so choose! No chipboard for this one!

The completed project measures 5 1/2"w x 8 1/2"h x 1 1/16" thick, and holds a 5" X 8" paper pad, a 6 compartment file pocket, and a calendar. There is also an hidden pocket behind the paper pad. This project can be adapted to be a wedding planner, a baby arrival or shower planner, a birthday party planner, a special anniversary party planner, a family reunion planner, and so on...

Have a look at the walk-through video to see the details.

If you are interested in purchasing the instrutions for this project, hop on over to Paper Architecture With Sabrina  It's a quick and easy project to make.

Just to let you know, I've started to make Christmas Cards for an upcoming class. They will be posted when I get them all completed.

Happy Papercrafting!

Two Things

First thing-

Today, I've posted File Folder Folio #5 on my other blog, Paper Architecture With Sabrina. If you'd like to see more, hop on over to get more photos and a video walk-through tour of the project.

Using Graphic 45's "Come Away With Me" collection makes this folio a perfect one to keep a record of your Summer vacation to share with family and friends.

There is a ton of photo space as well as plenty of journaling space to share your vacation experiences. Pockets, tags, flaps, and hidden page parts also make this interactive folio fun to browse through.
The link to purchase the instructions for this project are found  on Paper Architecture With Sabrina or at my Zibbet store.

Just think of the many folios that can be created just by changing the layout inside.

Second thing-

Remember to stop by the blog on September 26th for something special.

Thank you so much for checking in today! Happy papercrafting!

Dad Shaker Card

I think this is the first time that I've created a baby card for a man: a coworker had twins! I wanted to keep it simple and without large amounts of pastel colors. I decided to go with a shaker card using my Papertrey Ink Make It Market Kit.

Shaker cards can be created using almost any dies but these ones (specifically for shaker cards) sure made it easy. And the one ingredient you can't do without? Foam adhesive sheets!! Making one without is a huge pain (ask me how I know)!

I filled mine with pale pink and clear sequins as well as chunky clear glitter.

The interior (not pictured) reads: Good Things Come In Multiples (a sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Bitty Baby Blessings).

It's difficult, although possible, to avoid getting shaker bits caught on any adhesive within...

{Supplies--all Papertrey Ink unless noted}
  • Cardstock: Rustic White, Kraft, Clear
  • Patterned Paper: Aqua Mist and Lavender Moon gingham
  • Stamps: Distressed Background Blocks (My Favorite Things)
  • Ink: Classic Kraft
  • Dies: Shakers and Sprinkles Make It Market Kit, String of Hearts (Simon Says Stamp), Dad (Lil' Inkers)
  • Accessories: assorted sequins/glitter
  • Other Tools: foam adhesive sheet, Xyron Create-a-Sticker

Second of Two "Eerie Tales" Oct 18th Classes

The second class on October 18th is a card class. Just like the layout class we will again be using Graphic 45's "Eerie Tales" collection. The goal for this class is to create cards from this line that can be used for any number of ocasions, and be quick and easy to put togther. There are 5 cards for this class.

Because I'm teaching these in a class, I will be posting all of the cards togehter in one post for the benefit of those taking the class here in Victoria, BC.

They are pretty straight forward, so I will mainy be posting the photos without saying much about them.

I used Star Dust Stickles on the text as well as on the lost shoe in the image, which doesn't show up in the photo.

In this next one, I tried to cover up the "beast" to show the only the lovely lady in white.

The next is bright and bold in green and orange. I used Str Dust Stickles again on the word "Magical", punched two holes in the bottom right corner to tie a bow.

I realyly like the floral strip at the bottom edge.

Sorry about the blurr, I must have gotten too close with the camera.

I used some of the flower die-cuts with a gold Liquid Pearl center and loops of gold string to slightly cover Rumpelstiltskin and focus more on the young woman.

So that's it for these simple and quick to make "Eerie Tales" cards. Hope you enjoyed the cards.

Thank you for stopping by to have a look. There will be something special going on her at Aspiring to Creativity on September 26th, so be sure to stop by.

One of Two Classes for October 18th

Hello everyone!

Fall is here, and we start crafting like mad for the holidays to come. Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas!

Today I'm sharing with you three layouts for a class I'll be teaching on October 18th. At first I thought I would post one layout at a time, and I thought it would be easier for those taking the class if I posted all three together on one post. So this will be a longer post. But then I tend to do that anyway, and you are hopefully used to that by now. lol!

For these classes we will be using the Graphic 45 "Eerie Tales" collection. On the most part I tried to design these layouts so that they could be used for other than Halloween as well. So let's begin with the purple and orange layout.

All the purple you see are the photo mats for trimmed 4 x 6 and 3 x 4 photos. I intentionally used the measurements that are traditional pocket scrapbooking size. Some fussy cutting, cut-a-parts, stickers, and punch-outs from the cardstock die-cuts set are used for this layout. I also used some Star Dust Stickles here and there on the odd pumpkin, circle edge, and the first letter of the word or phrase.

So here are some of the detail photos (I used some for the teaser photos on my Paper Architecture With Sabrina FaceBook page). The first is the left side of the layout.

This is the right side of the layout.

These are the detail closeups-

Now let's have a look at the Green and Floral/Black layout.

This layout has space for 5 trimmed 4 x 6 photos. Three landscape and 2 portrait. There's a little bit of fussy cutting, some from the banners form the cardstock die cuts, tags from the cut-a-parts and cardstock stickers, and some ribbon accents. See the tags peaking above the portrait photo mats? Guess what?

They pull out! Let's look at the layout split up. First the left side...

...and now the right side.

And now for the details (again, some posted on the FaceBook page).

Now, for the third layout page, I thought we would take some of the left overs and create a pocket scrapbooking layout, with a bit of a twist. All the black that you will see are the spots for photos (or you could add more journaling if you wish).

Do you notice any sections and parts that are outside of the pocket? Let's check it out.

this first one shows that the "Scary" and "An Eerie Tale" are attached on the outside. The first with foam diemensionals, and second directly onto the plastic.

Here I've made a bundle of cardstock die cut charms. They are attached to the card that is on the outside. More details about this one to come.

And this third photo shows that the "Scary" and "Once Upon a Time" from the sticker sheet, are on the outside as well. This next photo will show you that some of these are attached directly to the card and on the plastic.

See the little black Velcro pieces that keep these folded cards closed? So what do you think of this idea? It adds more photos space and more journaling space too. All the gold sections are for journaling, but can write on black too with a white, gold or silver gel pen, or add more of the gold paper.

Well for those of you that are taking this class, these photos will help you with whatever you can't complete in class. For those of you not in this area, have fun with this inspiration.

Thank you for stopping by today, and happy papercrafting!
