We had our last Beginners Spectrum Noir class on Saturday, where we introduced the Purples and Pale Hues to the beginner sets. These are the cards we worked toward accomplishing. In class there was only time to practise techniques and colouring the sample sheets. (forgot to take a photo of my practise sheet)
Here is the first image we worked on.
In this image you can see that the little blue bird was coloured twice. Once on the image, and a second bird to cut out and pop up over the first.
The second image (Penny Black) we worked on we also covered more practising of the hair and skin just as with the first card.
In the close up below, you will see that we coloured a second set of forearms with the hands holding a coffee mug, and glued it down at the elbows, while popping up behind the mug. This makes the woman seem just a little more dimensional. (don't know if you could see that in the photo above, but in real life it is more noticeable)

The next Spectrum Noir classes will be in the Fall and will be different from this beginners' series of classes. To all those planning on continuing with Spectrum Noir colouring remember to purchase your Pastels and Lights sets, as well as complete your unfinished cards that we have worked towards over the last few months. Summer is here, and with everyone busy now in their gardens, outside more visiting and BBQing, and going on vacations, there will be fewer classes during the Summer months. But, when new class samples for summer and Fall classes are scheduled, there will be more to see here on my blog.

A friend's father recently passed away, so I used a batch of sunflowers that I had colored with no specific purpose in mind and constructed a sympathy card.

When I saw the Graphic 45 'Vintage Hollywood' collection months ago, I knew immediately that I could use this beautifully designed paper to create something for my daughter, Eva. She loves to create in a different way than I do. Her creativity is with hair and make up. Having been a beautician, hairdresser, beauty school instructor & manager, including an interest in fashion and costumes with a background in musical theater, she has many photos that she could put into the mini album with the Vintage Hollywood theme. This paper collection is so her.
When it comes to mini albums, with all the pockets, mats, and tags, showing it to you by video is much easier than taking a ton of photos. I completed this mini album about two months ago, but never got the video edited (minus music) till now. Enjoy the 12 minute video.
The album measures 7" x 9" x 1 3/4".

Yesterday we had two Graceful Fans Spellbinders classes. (Click here to see the cards for this class) Everyone was amazed at the versatility of this set of dies. What ye see bellow is just a small portion of combinations for the Graceful Fans die set.
So here are just a few of the photos from class. We, of course, had a lot of fun.
We have had a few ladies that decided to get the Spellbinders Platnum6 die cutting machine. Everyone has been real happy with their purchase and look forward to future Spellbinder classes.

One of the ladies that took this class played with her dies before class and brought a couple of the cards she made for show and tell. Didn't she do a great job!

I created these 2 cards at the same time. Layout is the same, vellum is the same, colors slightly varied. I was going for an artistic messy kind of coloring job on the flowers. The leaves were stamped.
The circle base on the first card is actually the same color as the second card. I used to plain vellum to soften it.

I made a few Mothers Day cards for some people I know. The first one I wasn't entirely pleased with. To be fair, I was rusty in the card-making department.
Goofed a bit on the butterfly and the stitching, mais c'est la vie!
