Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all! New, old, considering or desperately seeking. You all have a special place in the world.

I don't have a new Mother's Day card (kinda late for that!) but a card that fits just the same. It's a somewhat masculine card but I loved this color scheme so much that I  used some scraps to create this Paper Smooches concoction:

The bad thing about summer is the lack of diffuse lighting. I have to take pictures either in abject shade or in full sun. My amateur photo-editing can only do so much.

Though the cherry looks brown, it is actually Scarlet Jewel, a deep burgundy. After cutting it out, I added a shine mark with a white gel pen and then covered it with Glossy Accents.

I love the paper piecing! The 3 small cones have the ice cream scoop popped up while the large cone has the full confection, the ice cream scoop and the cherry all popped up.

This is my first adventure with Studio Calico's FabRips. I tore mine somewhat crooked but really like that it wasn't symmetrical. Character, people! ;)

I'm entering this into Simon Says Stamp's Sweet Tooth challenge.

You can see all my Paper Smooches projects here.

Thanks for stopping by!
