Play Date Café

The colors for the Play Date Café's challenge are similar to those for the last CR84FN challenge (I can't resist gray and yellow, it would seem). They also matched my aborted 1st attempt for the CR84FN challenge so I was happy to put my already assembled card base to work.

I don't think this is CAS enough to enter the current CAS-ual Fridays: For Sentimental Reasons challenge but it's still a fairly simple card.

The yellow doily overlay was adhered to a Smokey Shadow card base using careful bits of glue. I trimmed the sides and put extra glue at the corners. It was at this point that I determined it didn't suit my needs for the CR84FN challenge (mentioned above) and it got tossed aside.

For the PDC challenge, I added the rhinestone flourish and ribbon tag. The yellow was still a bit garish and so I inked the portions of the overlay to give the rhinestone flourish an illuminated sort of effect.

{Supplies--all Papertrey Ink unless noted}
  • Cardstock: Smokey Shadow, Soft Stone
  • Patterned Paper (doily overlay):
  • Stamps: Modern Wood Mats
  • Ribbon: Smokey Shadow grosgrain
  • Ink: Smokey Shadow
  • Dies: Ribbon Tags Trio (Spellbinders)
  • Other Tools: Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers), iRock/individual rhinestones (Imaginisce), rhinestone flourish (dollar store)
