Runway Inspired Challenge #7

A lot of last minute challenge submissions for me... I'm so sad to have missed the last JUGS and Embellish challenges... :(

Here is my take on the current Runway Inspired Challenge:

I used Lisa Johnson's Copic-colored embossing technique for the Mehndi Medallion. I white heat embossed the stamped image on black cardstock, colored at random with Copic markers and plastered it over top of some ruffled red grosgrain (technique I used here except I really did use a needle and thread for this).

Thanks for visiting!

{Supplies--all Papertrey Ink unless noted}
  • Cardstock: Hibiscus Burst, True Black, Stamper's Select White
  • Stamps: Mehndi Medallion, Healing Touch Sentiments
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark, Brilliance Pearlescent Poppy (all Tsukineko)
  • Dies: Standard Circles (Spellbinders), Double-Ended Banners
  • Copics: R89, RV14, B05 (will have to double-check these)
  • Other Tools: white embossing powder (Filigree), Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers), Pure Poppy grosgrain ribbon, needle/thread, adhesive sheet (Scor-tape)

This is a gorgeous card! It is a brilliant take on the challenge and I love your idea of white embossing on black and then colouring in with copies! I'll have to give that a try.
